Meet... Fancy Treehouse!

Yay! We are so excited to announce our newest member... Coury of Fancy Treehouse! We are sad to say goodbye to Maria of Lulu Letty, but also excited for her. Her blog is moving in a different direction and so she decided to leave the group, but she's been a huge part of us growing and it's been so amazing to have her. We're excited to see what Coury will bring to the table with her gorgeous style and fresh perspective! To get to know a little bit more about her... we asked her a few interview questions! Enjoy!

1. When and why did you start Fancy Treehouse?

I started selling on eBay in 2008 and I started blogging about a year ago. It began as a way to sell old clothes to buy new ones while I was cutting hair at Rudy's Barber Shop in LA. I realized that there's a lot of value in someone finding vintage clothes, fixing them up, and styling them. It's a lot of work and it gets stressful running a business but it's truly what I love to do.

2. What is another passion of yours besides style/fashion?

I love to write. It's such a pleasure for me to get things out through words. I think more than I talk so it's nice to have an outlet. My mom bought me this set of American Girl "write your own book" books when I was probably about 8 and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed writing in them.

3. Tell us a bit about what you do on an everyday basis!

First things first...coffee. I'm obsessed with coffee. If I couldn't have caffeine, I'll still drink decaf all day. I. Love. Coffee!

My week starts off by shopping for the store. This would be a nightmare to most. You have to try to spot potential in everything and have a lot of patience. Luckily, I love the whole process! I get everything home, excitedly sort through what needs to be altered (which is usually mostly everything), put some outfits together for myself out of the loot, and start the sewing process. After everything is sewed and steamed, I'll get product photos done, edit them, and add everything to the store. Then it starts all over again! :)

4. We're excited to have another L.A. blogger! Tell us what you love most about your city. (She recently moved to Nashville which is even MORE exciting!)

Well, I lived in the LA area for about 10 years and my family was ready for a change so we moved to Nashville, TN just last week! The best thing about LA is the weather and Disneyland. Everything else, I can do without. :) We are absolutely loving Nashville so far. It's green and beautiful and everyone is so nice. It's such a contrast from LA where people are generally angry and the majority of the landscape is more gray than green. Even the air here is just so pleasant. I'm just so happy to make Nashville my home!

5. What are you looking forward to most in the Delightful Dozen?

I am thrilled to be included with such a wonderful group of girls. I admire each one and can't wait to build relationships and make life long friends. :)
