Meet... Terra of Stylish White Female!

We are really excited to announce our newest member, Terra of Stylish White Female! We've had some big changes in the Delightful Dozen lately, but we're excited to settle back down and start swapping with some amazing, new girls! Terra is taking Annie of Time Enough for Drum's place. With graduate school, Annie didn't have a whole lot of time to spare, but we're excited for her... and for Terra to join in on the fun! Here are some interview questions to get to know her a little bit better!

1. When and why did you start Stylish White Female?

I began posting on SWF in November of 2009. Right around Thanksgiving, a friend of mine sent me the link to a personal style blog, thinking I would really enjoy it. I fell in love with the concept and spent my entire vacation reading back posts and exploring other blogs. I started SWF as a way to explore my closet and show off my favorite parts of Pittsburgh. We have such a beautiful city and the local shopping is really quite wonderful. I wanted to show that we're not exclusively a city of sports and steel.

2. Tell us a bit about being a new mom!

I'm not sure there are adequate adjectives to describe being a new mom. Becoming a parent is the most challenging endeavor anyone can imagine, but the child truly makes it all worthwhile. I feel so lucky to have an incredible partner who makes me laugh every day. The fact that he shares the cooking and cleaning responsibilities doesn't hurt either!

3. What do you love most about living in Pittsburgh?

There is a feeling you get when you're here of being in a tightly knit community. It's not just a city. I remember I took Stella out for a walk when she was just a couple of weeks old. I walked by Commonwealth Press, a screen printing company in my neighborhood. The owner literally ran out of his shop and caught up to me to say hello, get a peek at the baby and congratulate me. It's those little things that make me feel at home.

4. What is another passion of yours besides style/fashion?

Running, yoga and Crossfit are the things that keep me sane. Exploring vegan cooking keeps me healthy. And finding new-to-me music keeps me stimulated. All of these things, in addition to my family, of course, take up most of my free time. When I find a few hours on a Saturday or Sunday, I sew. But truth be told, I haven't had time for sewing since having Stella. I'll get that old machine out someday soon, I hope!

5. What are you looking forward to most in the Delightful Dozen?

I cannot wait for these creative ladies to take a piece from my closet and give it a fresh perspective. I see my clothes in a very particular way. It's always exciting to find out how someone else sees them.
