Meet... Kyla of Blue Collar Catwalk!

We are so excited to be announcing our first new member of five! Meet Kyla of Blue Collar Catwalk! We love Kyla's sweet personality, amazing sense of style while staying on a budget and wonderful outlook on body image and confidence. We feel like she represents everything we want the Delightful Dozen to represent, so she's the perfect girl to kick off our new mix of bloggers! Be sure to head over and check out her blog... but in the meantime, here are some interview questions to get to know her better! We'll be announcing the additional four bloggers next week!

1. When and why did you start Blue Collar Catwalk?

I started BCC in January of 2008 as a creative outlet. I have always loved clothes and magazines, but was craving inspiration at a faster pace than my monthly periodicals provided. With no local fashion scene to fuel the fire, I turned to the interwebs and discovered this whole new world of style blogging - and I was hooked! My goal from the start was to show big style on a small budget - something I still strive for every day.

2. Tell us a little bit about your day job.

I spend most of my time as a group leader and local trainer for a huge weight loss company (I promise you've all heard of it!). I love working with people, especially when it comes to helping them change their lives for the better. And because I will never be satisfied with just one job (seriously, it's a sickness), I do a bit of freelance graphic design, photography and personal styling. Needless to say, I keep busy!

3. What do you love most about living in Pennsylvania?

I actually love my town! State College is home of one of the biggest universities in the nation. Despite it's small size, it's a pretty liberal community with a creative heart. There's almost always something exciting going on and when there's not, we take full advantage of the quiet serenity that comes when students leave.

4. What is another passion of yours other than fashion/style?

Roller derby and running - nothing makes me feel more alive!

5. What are you most excited for in the Delightful Dozen?

Getting to know more bloggers, of course! It's a beautiful thing to see such a successful collaboration of strong individuals and I'm incredibly honored to be among them.
