We are so excited to announce our third new member of the Delightful Dozen... Mara of M Loves M! You might know her from her amazing blog or as the buyer and stylist for Shop Ruche! (How amazing, right?) Mara has been such a wonderful friend to many of the current and past DD members and we're so excited to see how her romantic style will shine through in our swaps! Here are some interview questions to get to know her a little bit!
1. When and why did you start M Loves M?
I started my blog in 2009 as a way to keep close with my boyfriend Matthew (now husband of 8 months!). We were in a semi long-distance relationship (San Francisco to LA) and blogging about our visits helped make us feel a little closer. Four months after I started the blog, Matthew ended up moving down to LA (yay!) and it grew from there!
2. Tell us a little bit about your day job.
I am the buyer and stylist for ShopRuche.com, the cutest online shop ever (if I do say so myself!). The style is feminine and vintage-inspired, which also translates to my personal style. I love buying clothes for the shop, as well as gathering inspiration and planning for our features and lookbooks.
3. What do you love most about living in California?
I love being close to my family! They mean so much to me and while I'd love to live in Seattle, South Carolina, New York, or Austin, I couldn't bear being too far away from them. LA is also amazing because you can be in San Diego or Santa Barbara in 2 hours and you're only 6 hours from San Francisco. I love going on day or weekend trips!
4. What is another passion of yours other than fashion/style?
I looove food! I'm obsessed with cooking, especially baking because of my major sweet tooth! An afternoon in the kitchen sounds like heaven to me! Chocolate vs Vanilla= Chocolate, hands down!
5. What are you most excited for in the Delightful Dozen?
I am so excited to get to know the other 11 (delightful, sorry I had to!) women! I'm so grateful for the friendships I've made through blogging and being a part of the Delightful Dozen will be a wonderful new opportunity!
