Meet Kaylah of The Dainty Squid!

We are so excited to finally complete our "delightful dozen" with the amazing Kaylah of The Dainty Squid. Her incredibly unique style and personality is going to add so much pizzazz to our group. We cannot wait to swap with her and get to know her even more! Most of us say that our favorite element of the Delightful Dozen is the friendships we've made. Having five new girls in the group added so much motivation for us to start swapping and collaborating even more! 1. When and why did you start The Dainty Squid?

I started The Dainty Squid back in 2009 basically just to be able to share photos with more of a description and voice than I was able to on Flickr. I quickly found it was a great way meet new people and connect on a level that I couldn't previously.

2. Tell us a little bit about being a small-business-owner and running a shop!

It is the best! Etsy has allowed me to have never had to work a "real job". Since graduating high school I've been a full time small business owner and self employed young lady! First with the Dainty Squid shop selling my handmade goods now Circus Bear Vintage selling vintage treasures. It's the absolute best thing ever. I am so in love with my job.

3. Tell us a little bit about your future husband!

Oh goodness, where to start! My future husband slash best friend is named Kevin. He's a machinist by day and my personal photographer by night (at least I like to think so!) He makes the best veggie burgers and will eat just about anything I bake, no matter how crappy it turns out. He's always there to encourage me and help me be the best version of me I can be! Basically, he rocks!

4. What is another passion of yours other than fashion/style?

Mycology (the study of fungi) I love foraging through the woods looking for new mushrooms to identify and photograph, it's probably my absolute favorite thing to do! There is such a thrill in finding one I've never seen before, figuring out what it is and learning all about it.

5. What are you most excited for in the Delightful Dozen?

To be honest, as cheesy as it sounds and repetitive (since all the other new members also said it), I'm excited about making new friends.
